Adam is a Registered Psychologist who believes that a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship can help us better understand ourselves and create meaningful change. Having come to therapeutic work through many years as a writer and musician, Adam brings warmth, curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for each person’s singular life experience.
Adam aims to create a space where people feel comfortable exploring their inner world, making sense of difficult feelings, and sharing their experiences without fear of judgement. He prioritises creating a trauma-aware, affirming, and culturally responsive space for clients of diverse backgrounds, neurotypes, and abilities.
Adam enjoys working with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, self-criticism, and challenges with identity and self-esteem. He has a particular interest in the ongoing impacts of early life stress and trauma, including difficult family dynamics, abuse, marginalisation, and experiences of feeling unseen or misunderstood. Adam flexibly works with Schema Therapy, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, Psychodynamic technique, ACT, CBT, and DBT, tailoring his work to each person's needs, experiences, and goals.
