Our Research
Q Psychology has various active research programs with a particular focus on LGBTQIAP+ mental health and neurodiversity.

Q Psychology is dedicated to best-practice, evidence based mental health care. This means we appreciate the role of science and research plays in our clinical work. As such, at any given time we are conducting various research projects to better understand individuals, communities, and mental health. Contact us for more information about being involved in our research.
Current Projects
Project: Understanding the lived experience of WPATH assessments.
Have you gone through a WPATH assessment? We’d love to talk to you about what went well and what could have been done better. We know the WPATH assessment process can be stressful, so we want to hear about what we can do to make it a better, safer, and more affirming process in the future.
Participation involves completing an online survey exploring your experiences receiving a WPATH assessment (20 – 25mins). If you participate, you can opt-in to win one of three $50 shopping vouchers.
You can also choose to participate in a 1:1 paid interview to further discuss your experiences receiving a WPATH assessment. (You can complete the survey and not participate in an interview).
Those who complete an interview will be reimbursed for their time with a $50 shopping voucher. To participate please click here.

Project: Journeys from chemsex to sober sex for men who have sex with men.
Are you a man who has sex with men who has engaged in regular PnP/chemsex and then re-engaged in sober sex (either successfully or unsuccessfully)?
You’re invited to participate in a confidential 1:1 interview via Zoom to discuss what helped and/or hindered your journey from PnP/chemsex to sober sex so we can better understand these journeys. We invite participation from individuals who are at any part of that journey (i.e., those still engaged in PnP/chemsex and those who are not). Your participation will be private and de-identified.
You will be reimbursed with a $50 Coles Myer gift card for your time. To participate please register your interest here.
